Design and Marketing
Welcome to my Design and Marketing page. My past experiences as a creative and an artist have given me the opportunity to expand my skills in artistic design, in particular as it relates to the marketing of a product. Good design skills are crucial to reaching an intended audience and connecting them with your message or product. In the past, I've marketed my own artwork for my photography business and for a business's products through my displays at the library. I used my knowledge of two-dimensional design principles to create appealing, creative displays as well as my understanding of business and communication to ensure those designs gave the right message. Photography By Jordan Shea
I ran my own business called Photography by Jordan Shea, which included an online Etsy store, a gallery space at Taylor's Art and Collective, and an active social media presence. In addition to selling my own personal photography through this business, I worked for companies, taking photos of their events or venues to then be used for promotion. I was the sole owner and employee so all art, editing, marketing, accounting, client retention, etc. was done by me.
Display Work
During my time at the library, I took over the designing and making of the displays. The three main categories I made included themed book displays, diversity and inclusion displays, and program associated displays. I thoroughly researched the topics to make appropriate and appealing designs as well as the books to place alongside them based on the inventory we had. As a result, my library had a significant increase in circulation of materials associated with my work and customers frequently commented on how wonderful and inspiring they were.
